
Stephen Odusanya came to Canada over 2 years ago with big dreams to grow professionally and provide a much better outlook for his whole family. He was working as a Project/Construction Engineer in Nigeria with ExxonMobil from 2011 until prior to his immigration to Canada in the first quarter of 2018. He aptly chose to settle in Calgary, the corporate hub of energy companies in Canada.
He has a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering with over 15 years of work experience and has lodged his application to APEGA hoping to get his P. ENG. designation. He is progressing his career with studies in Renewables and Energy Management.
“I came to Canada looking for better opportunities, for my children’s future, and my search for higher education and ultimately seek partnerships that will help in meeting and realizing SDG 7 goals in Nigeria and Africa as a whole,” he says.
His interest and passion for energy have seen him being more resolved in helping the world attain the SDG 7, ensuring access to affordable reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all.
This resolute has made him began a transition of his career from Oil and Gas into the world of Renewables and Energy Management. He started off with an intensive solar training certificate course with Solar Installers Canada in 2019 and since progressed his career development by taking courses such as:
